Ofil specializes in detection in the Solar Blind UV band (240 - 280 nm) where solar radiation is absorbed by the atmospheric ozone and does not reach earth. The range of "visible" wavelength to which human eyes are senstivie is 400-700nm. Ofil's top quality filters absorb any sun radiation, including background "noise" of solar radiation while transmitting in the narrow UVc band of 240-280nm.

Ofil's SBUV filters constitute the critical components in fire and flames detection. Ofil's filters are independent of light angle of incidence; can be embedded as part of the optics and have optical curvatures; sustain temperature differences of  40ºC up to 90ºC; and proven record of endurance, serving 5 years in field work without any degradation.

The optic filters are categorized according to the photo-cathode diameter they are used in, and temperature resistance. With optional customization.
