Ofil's SBI-2 solar blind UV imager incorporates a UV sensitive ICCD camera, a special Catadioptric UV lens and an all absorption type solar blind filter to achieve an imaging system that is absolutely solar blind.
The SBI-2 optics and detector are similar to those in the UV channel of the DayCor®II camera.
Like the DayCor®II, the SBI-2 shows no response to solar radiation even when looking directly to the sun at noontime during the summer. The high sensitivity to UV in the Solar Blind range (250-280 nm) makes the SBI-2 a useful tool for detection of the weakest UV signals.

The SBI-2 imager is useful for imaging various UV sources in full daylight. Typical  applications are: fire detection, including invisible hydrogen and alcohol flames, monitoring of HV equipment for corona discharges, missile plume detection, detection of small arms muzzle flashes, detection of leakages of UV radiation from lamps and UV sterilizations devices etc….
Ofil's SBUV imagers are:

Truly solar blind - zero response when looking directly at the     sun.
  Single photon sensitivity.
  Standard video output.
